The Social Enterprise Challenge

The Social Enterprise Challenge is a unique online training programme aimed at young people aged between 16 and 24. This team based activity focuses on community or social causes, as well as giving participants real world experience, and developing the skills that will help take them forward on their chosen career path. The programme is part time over six weeks so is fully compatible with a full time school schedule, and can optionally be overseen by a teacher or mentor.

The Prelude Group

The Social Enterprise Challenge has been developed and is part of the Prelude Group, comprised of a number of companies and projects all focused on supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in the UK. The Prelude Group is enterprise driven: for entrepreneurs and by entrepreneurs. Our mission is to make Britain the most enterprising nation in the world, and through our clubs, networks and training programmes we provide support to entrepreneurs across the spectrum. This ranges from young people still in education, right through to the entrepreneurs behind some of the most successful companies in the UK today.

Where we come from

Eight years ago, Duncan Cheatle, founder of the Prelude Group, set up The Supper Club, a membership club for successful entrepreneurs turning over £1m+. The Supper Club is now the UK’s leading club for innovative, fast growth entrepreneurs, as our member statistics reveal:

  • In 2010 67% grew more than 20% and 24% more than 50%
  • Members have won or been finalists in over 700 awards
  • The Supper Club was named the SFEDI Network Builder of the Year 2010

We have now hosted over 700 forums, seminars and dinner events and membership is growing fast. Prelude programmes are developed from the insights we get from working so closely with our members: the tried and tested tips, practical advice and best practice. That’s why we describe Prelude as ‘entrepreneur driven’: the experience of the best entrepreneurs available to those looking to emulate their success, as well as help support younger people to develop their entrepreneurialism.

" I really enjoyed taking part in the Thanks To Campaign. When I started the programme, I had very little idea of how the campaign would look like and what we would be trying to achieve, as I have never done anything like that before. I soon realised that it was entirely up to our team as to how we shaped it, which was the really exciting part! "

" Taking part in the programme was one of the best career choices I have made. Not only did I gain valuable knowledge and develop my skills, I also had the chance to meet and work with amazing individuals from my fellow team members to successful CEOs. "
